Kayak camping on the Pedernales River.

At the end of July 2020 Michael and I set out on our very first kayak camping trip. It was a learning experience…
At this point I’ve had my kayak for about a year now, but with Micheal going a little stir crazy due to the COVID-19 quarantine, decided to hop on the train (or the boat) and get a yak for himself. We immediately started looking at every body of water between Dallas and Austin. Luckily Mike’s parents live on the Pedernales river right outside of Austin. We worked out the details, I loaded my kayak, and headed down to the hill country.
We set out heading upstream. There was little to no current, so it wasn’t extremely tough to do so. What was tough was the incredibly strong head wind we faced. Check it out!
